APJ Abdul Kalam|The People's Former President

Former President, best scientist, Bharat Ratna.... These are just some of the titles that come before the name of APJ Abdul Kalam who disappeared today in Shillong, collapsing in the middle of what he enjoyed doing most -- discussing to students. In this situation, the students of the Indian Institute of Management. He was 83 years old.

The Former President APJ Abdul Kalam Dies At 83

He born 15 October 1931 in Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu to ordinary parents - his father was a boat owner -- APJ Abdul Kalam distributed newspapers at in his childhood comfort his family and his education.
He finished his graduation with physics from the Madras University, moved on to study aerospace engineering. He wanted to be a fighter pilot but just dropped that bus.

But there was no stopping him. The DRDO, ISRO, chief scientific advisor to the prime minister in 1992, the Pokhran 2 nuclear tests, Abdul Kalam straddled them all, till he was elected India's 11th President in 2002.

It was the position he will apparently be most remembered for  a president who brought Rashtrapati Bhavan to the people, earning him the tribute of the People's President.

Signing the Office of Profit Bill was the toughest decision he had taken during his tenure -- that's what Abdul Kalam himself was once quoted saying.

There were also questionable decisions, his response to humanity appeals from death file convicts and the imposition of President's Rule in Bihar in 2005. I never Forget his speeches

But what he will retain for was his engagement with the people - mainly children - even later his presidency and the books that he wrote - India 2020 and, of course, Igniting minds.

"If you want to shine like a sun, first burn like the sun," APJ Abdul Kalam had said in one of his inspirational conversations. He absolutely did.Today that sun has set and Dr. APJ Abdul kalam is not with us, But he will be always in our heart and his inspiration will always motivate the people to  work hard and touch the sky.
